1. The method of lines and the advective equation, by M.B. Carver and H.W. Hinds, AECL, 1978-08-01. Doc type: Paper.
   Summary: This article showed that the common approach of first order differencing, used in almost all thermalhydraulic computer programs, would not properly solve the simplest hyperbolic PDE on the market. Despite the errata, it is Carver's most cited publication and laid the foundations for many higher order analyses by others, and Carver's pseudo-characteristic method of lines (PCMOL) solution of the thermalhydraulic conservation equations.
